What to Expect: Live Wedding Portrait Process
Step 1: Inquire
Fill out the inquiry form to get started! I will get in touch to confirm if your wedding date and location are available, and if so, we will schedule a meeting for step 2.
Step 2: Connect
If your wedding date is available, we will meet (via phone or video call) to discuss your vision, event details, and more! We will also discuss your pricing quote and the details of your contract.
If you have a wedding planner, we can either include them in this first meeting or I can meet with them separately to discuss details.
Step 3: Reserve your date
Book your wedding date by paying a retainer fee as a deposit (50% down) and signing your contract. Your date will not be reserved until the retainer fee is paid and contract is signed.
Step 4: Final meeting
We will meet once more (via phone or video call) to confirm final wedding day details with you, and if available, your wedding planner. Any last minute updates will be discussed during this call.
I will work with you (and your planner) to find an agreed upon time to capture the reference image the day of your wedding. If for some reason, you would prefer to have a painting done live of a photo of your engagement shoot or another photo of the two of you, I can do that instead.
Typically I try to have this final meeting around 30 days before your wedding day.
Step 5: Live painting on your wedding day
Congrats – you made it to your big day!
At the agreed upon time, I will get a reference photo of you and your partner (typically during a first look, if you have one planned).
Once I have the reference image, I will begin painting your portrait! This is typically started during the ceremony, and the live painting will continue throughout the reception.
Step 6: Final painting is delivered
You won’t need to worry about taking the portrait with you on your wedding day. Instead, I will take it back to my studio for a few final touch ups, and have it delivered, sealed and ready to hang, within 4 weeks of the wedding day.

FAQs
How much does it cost?
I currently offer two packages, both priced at $3,500 in total. Additional fees may apply; see my current packages for more details.
What if I don’t have a wedding planner?
That’s no problem! When we discuss the details of your day, it’s best if I am in contact with whoever is in charge of scheduling your wedding day. Ideally, I will need at least 20 minutes (no more than 30 minutes) with the bride and groom to capture the reference image that will be used for the painting. This can be any time during the day, but the preference is during the first look or immediately following the ceremony, when any portraits are being taken by the photographer.
How much time do you need to get a reference photo?
Each wedding day is unique. Typically, 20-30 minutes is enough to capture a reference photo of the two of you.
What if we don’t get a reference photo we love?
There is usually enough time to capture an image you are excited about. If for any reason we don’t have the time or circumstances change and we are not able to get an image, I can use a backup image agreed upon and provided prior to the wedding. This is typically an image from your engagement session or another photo shoot you have done together before the wedding.
When will we get the final painting delivered?
After your wedding day, I will take the painting back to my studio for finishing touches. The painting will be delivered, sealed and ready to hang, within 4 weeks of the wedding day.
Will the final painting be framed?
No, the painting will be completed on a gallery-wrapped canvas, with no glass or frame around it.
What is a gallery-wrapped canvas?
A gallery-wrapped canvas is a canvas wrapped around a wooden frame, typically 1.5 inches thick. The sides of the canvas will be black.
